Marlene Weston

Born in Winnipeg and raised in Saskatoon, I attended the U of S where I received a BA and an LLB. I practiced law for 13 years, then became the full-time Administrator of a Special-care Home in 1985. I received Certificates in Health Care Administration for Long Term Care in 1987 and Acute care in 1988 from U of S. In 1993, became the original CEO of the Rolling Hills Health District, one of the new 32 Health Districts formed in which 5 hospitals were closed. In 2000, I left Rolling Hills and began an itinerant life as a health care consultant, Northwest Regional Manager for Addictions Foundation of Manitoba (Brandon, MB), Director of Continuing Care for Northwestern Health Region (High Level, AB), Director of Health Quality Programs for Prairie North RHA and for the last six years Director of Population Health Services for Heartland Health Region headquartered in Rosetown. In 2004 I received an MBA from Athabasca U. I married Arnold in 1971 and since 1974 we have operated the family farm near Gull Lake, SK. We have 2 sons, one daughter-in-law and 4 grandchildren.
