BRIDGEPOINT Adult Programming
WHAT TO KNOW:
BridgePoint Center for Eating Disorders is a multi-disciplinary organization
of individuals whose aim is to help you initiate processes, whereby you become
more aware and assured of what you want out of life. Struggling with
an eating disorder can be a very lonely, painful existence. We understand this.
Some of us have been there.
We intend to offer you a safe, comfortable, nurturing environment in which you
may begin to heal. We, your facilitating team, have varying strengths, talents
and resources to support your needs. We are here because we want to be here.
We are not perfect. We will do our very best. We care. We are patient. We realize
it is through baby steps that you will recognize and begin to claim your own strength, inner resources and potentialities.
Thank you for taking the first step in your healing journey. We look forward
to getting to know you.
WHAT TO DO: Orientation and Module I:
Please read your copy of BridgePoint Application Procedure for Adults: First Things First, in which we offer you important information about the scheduling of appointments, who, what and how to complete Parts A, B and C of the application documents, when these documents are to be given to your Home Team members, and when they are to be submitted to BridgePoint. Please share all information with your Home Team.
Make an appointment to see your counselor for the week following your return home from Module 1. We believe this is an essential step in supporting yourself. You will have an opportunity to connect with your counselor during Module 1 programming during a midway and closure conference call.
Give information to people you are inviting to Family and Friends Programming.
This is an essential element of our programming and integral to your recovery
process.
Postponement of Module 1 Attendance: If it has been more than six months since you have been to an Orientation, you
may be asked to participate in Orientation again. Please contact BridgePoint to see what applies to you. Each time you participate in Orientation, the application criteria is the same as documented in the BridgePoint Application Procedure for Adults: First Things First.
WHAT IS HELPFUL:
Module I:
We recommend that you arrange to have a day or more "off ", between
the conclusion of a BridgePoint program and you're return to work or school. This
affords you some time to continue to "process" your experience. It is a way to further support yourself after the intensity of personal work.
